The Straton Sprint (AKA Cuffbuster) is a vintage inspired watch, designed to have the time always available at a glance. With 6 dial colours and an incredible price, the Sprint is now available to order for only $349 (for the first 500 orders only), and no other discount codes are redeemable for this watch.
Some love it, some loathe it - but we make designs that fascinate us, and this is certain to be a piece of horological history that every watch lover should own.
Back in 1972, the watch brand Desotos had a long range of successful chronograph sports watches. For their next watch, they began to consider the specifics needs of racing drivers and airplane pilots. They knew that they had to have a good way to instantly tell the time, without having to take their hands off the controls to pull up the cuff sitting over their watch dial.
Desotos decides to take a daring design solution: create a chronograph that cannot be covered by the long-sleeved overalls or pilot jacket. This, was the initial birth of a design that would become known as 'the cuffbuster'.
The original had a Valjoux 7734 movement and a case with pushers along the top to facilitate handling. In addition, it had a curious asymmetrical arrangement that allowed it to sit partially on the back of the hand, preventing it from being covered by the user's sleeve, therefore allowing for perfect timekeeping at a glance.
Inspired by the original Desotos Cuffbuster, and with a love for all things vintage & automotive themed, we knew that the Sprint had to be our next watch.
Keeping the vintage look and feel of the original design, we added some modern twists, along with adding 6 dial variants, all whilst keeping the price accessible - making this classic piece of horological history available to everyone.
The Cuffbuster is one of those designs that you've just never seen before.
With that, it has some very unique details...
You'll notice that for comfort and ease of time setting, the crown and 2 chronograph buttons are located on the top of the dial, making it incredibly easy to reset the movement, or adjust the time. This also allows the Cuffbuster to be incredibly comfortable - some worry about it being uncomfortable on the back of the hand - but with the design adjustments that we've made, it simply isn't!
The Cuffbuster is available in 6 colours, from those that tow the line with it's 1972 predecessor (for example our Brown dial), all the way through to some more colourful options such as the Orange or Turquoise dials.

Although it can be amusing to look at some of the negative feedback - we've actually been overwhelmed by just as much support for the Sprint. This piece is truly marmite.
Kyle (Founder & Designer), creates watches that he loves. Inspired by vintage automotive history, the Sprint is the reimagining of a horological legend.
Designed to be a piece that is fun and completely different to the norm - we know that this will only be worn a select few times a year.
It's a bit of fun for the wrist - a true conversation starter!
Q: IS THIS WATCH UNCOMFORTABLE?
A: Contrary to popular belief, the leather strap allows great flex in the watch, and it isn't uncomfortable to wear... however we're well aware that the Cuffbuster isn't going to win any awards for comfort. With the unique design of this watch, it will of course have a more physical presence on wrist.
Q: CAN YOU BEND YOUR WRIST WHEN WEARING THE CUFFBUSTER?
A: Yes, absolutely. Some people believe that a watch has no flex, this is a misconception! The case moves with your wrist.
Q: CAN I GET A METAL BRACELET FOR MY CUFFBUSTER?
A: Yes, absolutely. Our 20mm Rally Bracelet will fit the watch. It will also fit any third party or after-market straight end link 20mm bracelet.
